Dear Delegate
We invite you to join us inBrisbane in October for one of the
highlights of our year – four days of information gathering,
discussion and professional networking at the 22nd Australian
International Education Conference (AIEC).
This year our conference theme Global Citizens, Global
Impacts ties into the positive outcomes which
international education has for students, for educational
institutions, and for economic and social development in Australia
and the surrounding region.
It is a timely theme for the 2008 conference, coming in the year
that international education emerged as Australia’s largest
services export and third largest export overall. The theme also
highlights the positive impact which Australia’s efforts in
international education have on the lives of hundreds of thousands
of people each year. We can be proud to say that we make a
difference!
This year the conference program will include sessions on
mobility, transnational education, marketing and recruitment,
teaching and learning, student and graduate experience, and
international education policy. As always, there will be sessions
of special interest to individual sectors of international
education.
We extend a particular invitation to overseas delegates whose
attendance gives a special dimension to the AIEC. And we also urge
newcomers to international education to attend because there is no
better way of informing yourself about the industry and making the
key contacts you need to move ahead.
Once again this year’s conference will be jointly hosted by IDP
Education Pty Ltd and the International Education Association of
Australia. We trust that it will deliver you strong professional
outcomes and help you renew the relationships you have established
in our growing industry of international education.
We look forward to seeing you in Brisbane.
Yours sincerely,
Anthony Pollock
